Well I've moved again...back home. My lease in the Central West End is up and I have chosen not to live there any longer. My parents are kind enough to put me up while we.....LOOK FOR A HOUSE! I'm very excited! My parents are looking to buy a house that my WONDERFUL boyfriend Patrick and I can rent from them. For those of you who don't know Patrick and I have been seeing each other for a little over 10 months even though we have known each other for about 2 years. We are totally head over heels in love. My parents love him and support our relationship which is amazing and for the first time in my life I have found someone who loves me and cares for me the way I do him.
On the downside of things I have had some health issues this month and will be having a surgical procedure to hopefully remove a high grade lesion on my cervix. This is really tough when one has no health insurance. So as you can imagine I SUPPORT THE FUCK out of OBAMA and his plan to help all of us less fortunate. I almost get to emotional to talk about it. I heard one ignorant soul say," Think about how long of a wait you will have at the emergence room if EVERYONE had health care?!" Jesus!!! Are you kidding me....i hope that fuck loses his job and has to pay for his health care...or not go to the doctor when he is sick because he can't afford it. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone had the same chance at life...we could build more hospitals,more jobs for nurses and doctors! UHHHHH!
Professionally I'm about to enjoy a very exciting experiance....I'm being PAID to go to LOLLAPALOOZA?!!! Thats right Donnie Fandango will be broadcasting live from Chicago's grant park and I am very excited to get to be the promotions person on site!!!! Living Things,Tool,KOL,Cage the Elephant,Rise Against and sooooo many more!!
Also I'm the new HOST of the SUNDAY NIGHT LOCAL SHOW! Cornbread broadcasts live and I run the show...every sunday bands battle it out to play pointfest and win a slew of amazing prizes....recording time,photoshoot,video shoot,etc! This means on August 15th when KILLER ME KILLER YOU(my boyfriend Patrick's band....he sings,SWOON) will be playing with National act Framing Hanley and I will be the Host of the whole event. Judges include radio personalities and my favorite record label reps.
My dad,boyfriend, and I played in the 100 Inning Celebrity Softball Game for a Crohnes Cure....very exhausting but very fun! Patrick even got 2nd place in the Home Run Derby...half rockstar/half jock...he has my heart!! Damn if my dad didn't play like 40 some innings holy shit!! We played with Cam janson from the Blues...JC Cochran of KHITS and many more!! Even FREDBIRD was there!!
I worked All Star week at FANFEST....hours and hours of TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME kareoke...ouch. But what an experiance. I even took a pic wearing my mans CLEVELAND INDIANS HAT in a professional looking dugout haha
I did my very first stage announcement at The Pageant for STORY OF THE YEAR....very cool!!All of my friends were in the reserved box to watch it!!
Pointfest 24 was a HUGE success another sell out! The interviews I worked out turned out great!My job specifically at the event is to make sure back stage runs smooththly. I meet the band take them for the radio interview,pick them up after get their pictures taken with the jocks,have them sign the charity items,take them to a destination I have picked out for the video interview that I have set up,then take them to the free shit tent drop them off then do it again with the next band...I do this ALL DAY LONG! I got to hang with Bert McCraken of THE USED who I admire and since Igot my best friend the gig of pointfest photog her and her hubby and my bf hung out backstage watching me run around like a crazy person!!I even took my parents backstage to watch the offspring from the side of the stage!! But the after party makes up for it. Pointfest 25 is this august and I'm busting my balls making it happen....hopefully it will go as well as the last one!
I need to blog more often so that I don't have to pack so much in to one blog!
Well that was my summer....I'll update after Lollapalooza!
